Abstract
Notonectidae are common and widespread insects throughout the United States and Canada, but no notonectids have been reported from West Virginia. We n ow report this family to be represented in the state by four species in two genera, Buenoa margaritacea, Notonecta indica, Notonecta irrorata and Noto necta undulata. Additionally, we provide a list of other Notonectidae speci es that may occur in West Virginia.
