Abstract
In this letter, 'dependence of the efficiency of hybrid type-II ARQ schemes on packet size in the context of a simple packet combining scheme is discu ssed. A simple algorithm of adopting the optimum packet size according to c hannel bit error rate (BER) is presented. Also, a very simple method of est imating the channel BER is provided.
