Abstract
This paper deals with the problem of the electromagnetic scattering from a sea fractal surface, The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate that the se a-scattered signal retains some fractal characteristic of the sea surface. In detail, we analyze the signal scattered from a sea surface modeled by th e one-dimensional (I-D) sea-surface fractal profile proposed in [1], The re sults show the graphs of the in-phase and quadrature components of the rece ived signal are fractal curves with box-counting fractal dimension equal to the one of the sea profile. These results are validated by presenting and discussing some numerical examples.
