This research aims at developing a manufacturing planning methodology for a
n AGV-based automated manufacturing system by simultaneously dealing with m
aterial processing and transportation functions. The integrated planning mo
del is developed through identification and analysis of complex interaction
s between material processing and transportation functions. Also, a solutio
n method is developed by decomposing the integrated planning model into sma
ller two subproblems, a machine selection and operations sequencing and fle
xible guidepath design, and alternately solving these two subproblems. An e
xample problem is solved to present the solution procedure to apply the pro
