Abstract
Two cases of QT prolongation and torsades de pointes (TdP) are presented. T
he patients had been taking clarithromycin (400 mg/day) for respiratory dis
ease. Although erythromycin is reportedly associated with TdP, this is the
first report of clarithromycin associated with TdP in the absence of other
drugs already known to produce QT prolongation.
