Abstract
The epoxidation of some androsta-4,6-dienes with m-chloroperbenzoic acid ha s been shown to give the 4 beta, 5 beta; 6 alpha,7 alpha-diepoxides, the st ereochemistry can be rationalized in terms of the directing effect of one e poxide on the facial selectivity of the second epoxidation.
