Abstract
Technical advances in methodologies, robotics, and computerization have led to significant enhancements in the capability of automated immunoassay (IA ) analyzers. New systems feature unattended operation as essentially all sy stems are controlled by computer software. The user interface software has also been greatly enhanced to assist the user in system maintenance and tro ubleshooting. The described features of these newer systems are numerous an d essential for effective automation of immunoassays in a cost-competitive market-driven laboratory.
