Abstract
CuCl2 reacts with four equivalents of Ph2SiO2Li2 in THF to form Cu(mu-OSiPh 2OSiPh2O)(2) [Li(THF)(2)](2) in 80% yield by formal elimination of Li2O and LiCl. CuBr2 reacts analogously. The product of these reactions has a spiro cyclic metallasiloxane structure containing two CuOSiOSiO and two CuOLiO ri ngs.
