International cooperation in library education: A survey of programs between North America and anglophone Africa

This article surveys models of cooperative programs in library education be tween North American and African library communities since the beginning of this century. It also identifies the issues involved in the design and imp lementation of these programs as well as the challenges posed to the sponso rs and beneficiaries. It concludes with a call for concerted action to faci litate access to electronic information resources for African library schoo ls.
