Abstract
Algebraic techniques orginally used in nuclear physics can be extended to m olecular systems by combining Lie-algebraic and point-group techniques. The symmetry adaptation gives rise to a direct connection between the algebrai c and traditional configuration-space descriptions. We illustrate the model with an application to CO2.
