Abstract
Negative-parity excitations in the 2.5 MeV region in Cd-112 have been inves tigated with the (n, n'gamma) reaction. Several of these states exhibit enh anced B(E2) values for decay to the 3(1)(-) octupole state, indicative of q uadrupole-octupole coupled (2(+) x 3(-)) structures. The B(E1) values obser ved are typically in the range of 1-5 x 10(-4) W.u., irrespective of the fi nal state.
