Abstract
Subcell modeling in the FDTD method is often used to improve accuracy witho ut a significant increase in computational resources. One of the problems i n this class is the modeling of wire dipole antennas. An algorithm for mode ling wire dipoles with the radius in the range of 2 x 10(-6) to 2 x 10(-2) of the wavelength is described that significantly improves the accuracy of the determination of the antenna input impedance.
