Abstract
The hydrogen bond plays a critical role in diverse biological phenomena. Al though discovered 90 years ago, the precise chemical nature of this unique interaction has remained in dispute. A recent Compton-scattering experiment , however, strongly supports a partially covalent picture of the hydrogen b ond.
