Abstract
The weakly nonlinear theory of the two-field model of drift wave turbu lence is outlined. It was demonstrated within the framework of this mo del that a double energy cascade is an element of spectral transfer du e to the presence of two quadratic invariants and Poisson bracket type nonlinearities. The obtained results are illustrated by two examples of drift wave turbulence known in magnetized and unmagnetized plasmas.
