Abstract
Laser-induced modifications of the electrical properties of anodic vanadium oxide films were stu died using a pulsed YAG:Nd3+ laser with lambda = 1.06 mu m Irradiation was found to lower the electrical conductivity and modify significantly the parameters of electroforming and switching in vanadium a nodic oxide. The threshold energy for laser modification was measured to be approximate to 0.3 mJ/ cm(2). These changes of the electrical properties a re associated with structural (crystallization) cm and compositional tin pa rticular, V2O5 --> VO2) transformations occurring during laser irradiation.
