Abstract
We show that the Field-Cooled (FC) and Zero-Field-Cooled (ZFC) initial susc eptibilities for fine magnetic particle systems are very sensitive to the p article intrinsic anisotropy type, allowing to distinguish between the cubi c and uniaxial anisotropies. The effect of a Debye mean-field on the FC and ZFC initial susceptibilities for various particle anisotropy type is also discussed. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
