Abstract
It is established that the conductivity of normal electrons in superconduct ors plays a large role in the current-voltage characteristic of a Josephson junction having a high critical current density, described on the basis of a nonlocal electrodynamics. It is shown in the resistive limit that the no rmal-electron contribution increases the current through the Josephson junc tion, while in the capacitive limit it decreases the contribution of Cheren kov resonances.
