Oximes from seeds of Atalantia ceylanica

The lipophilic seed extract of Atalantia ceylanica is characterized by two new oximes, ataloxime A and B. and the known furanocoumarins bergapten, xan thotoxin. heraclenin, oxypeucedanin and imperatorin. The structures of the oximes were elucidated by spectroscopic methods. whereas the furanocoumarin s were identified by HPLC-UV and TLC comparisons with authentic samples. Th e oximes displayed contact tonicity against freshly hatched larvae of the p est insect Spodoptera littoralis but did not show antifungal activities aga inst Cladosporium herbarum.
