Abstract
Subsequent to inversion, horizontally pre-gravistimulated coleoptiles exhib it an increased gravicurvature capacity as compared to vertically pre-gravi stimulated and subsequently horizontally gravistimulated coleoptiles, This indicates that gravistimulated inhibition of growth of the upper organ flan k during gravicurvature is mediated via the retention of wall loosening pot ential. After inversion, this potential contributes to enhanced cell extens ion on the then physiologically lower side.
