Laser-induced tobacco protoplast fusion

Laser tweezers can manipulate snail particles, such as cells and organelles . When coupling them with laser microbeam selective fusion of two tobacco p rotoplasts containing some chloroplast was achieved. Physical and biologica l variables that affect laser trapping and laser-induced fusion were also d iscussed. The results show that the effect of chloroplast content and distr ibution on the yield of cell fusion is remarkable.
