Abstract
Synthesis and characterization of tetracoordinated tin(II) complexes with s emicarbazones and thiosemicarbazones of heterocyclic ketones viz. 2-acetylp yridine, 3-acetylpyridine, 2-acetylnaphthalene, 2-acetyfuran and 2-acetylth iophene in 1:1 stoichiometry are reported. The conductance measurements in DMF show these complexes to be non-electrolytes and the molecular weight de terminations indicate their monomeric nature. The nature of bonding is disc ussed on the basis of the electronic, infrared, multinuclear magnetic reson ance (H-1, C-13, and Sn-119) and Sn-119 Mossbauer spectral studies.
