Performativity and belonging - An introduction

This short piece introduces the Special Issue, giving both a general sense of the terms 'belonging' and 'performativity', and discussing key related c oncepts that unite the articles of the issue: difference and their differen ces; the politics of visuality; embodiment; and the idea of routes. The pre dominant themes as they appear in the different articles are discussed unde r these headings.
