Abstract
The catalytic effect of Ag+ and Cu++ on the anodic dissolution of ZnS conce ntrate has been studied in H2SO4 medium. It has been observed through cycli c voltammetry that in both cases the current for Zn dissolution increases w ith added cation concentration and also the additional peaks indicate the f ormation of Ag2S/CuS and Ag/Cu metal. Cu++ in HCl solution does not either show catalytic effect or the formation of of CuS. Moreover, the metallic co pper formation is also found to be less.
