Application of column flotation in the zinc cleaning circuit at Dariba concentrator Rajashtan, India.

Cleaning of the zinc rougher concentrate with flotation column indicated th e possibility of producing a concentrate containing 53% Zn with 85% recover y while restricting the silica content to below 2% in single stage as compa red to the concentrate assaying 47%-49% Zn with 80% recovery containing 5%- 7% silica being produced currently at the Dariba concentrator, after three cleaning stages, in the conventional mechanical cells. The paper outlines t he details of the studies carried out both on Denver mechanical cell and 50 mm diameter indigenous glass flotation column.
