Abstract
Exciton scattering by fluctuations of the concentration and the orient ation of the spins of magnetic impurities and the associated broadenin g of excitonic bands in a quantum well with semimagnetic barriers CdMn Te/CdTe/CdMnTe have been investigated. The relaxation time is found as a function of the exciton energy and thickness of the well. The relax ation time depends strongly on the magnetic field. The dependence is d ifferent for excitons that form the sigma(+) and sigma(-) components o f the optical transition. (C) 1997 American Institute of Physics.
