Abstract
We prove stability (or compactness) and existence results for a free bounda ry model of a barotropic compressible fluid. Then, we construct weak soluti ons as asymptotic limits of the isentropic compressible Navier-Stokes equat ions as gamma goes to infinity. (C) Elsevier, Paris.
