Abstract
A lemma of Razumikhin type, pertaining to boundedness of solutions of funct ional differential equations, is presented. This lemma is subsequently invo ked in the analysis of adaptive strategies that guarantee approximate track ing, with prescribed asymptotic error bound, of reference signals of Sobole v class W-1,W-infinity for two classes of uncertain systems modelled by con trolled nonlinear functional differential equations.
