Abstract
An efficient three-step synthesis of germyl linker precursor 4 is described which enables a simple two step immobilisation of lithiated aromatics to A rgogel(TM) polymer; cleavage from the polymer support via ipso-degermylatio n with TFA, ICl, Br-2 and NCS provides protio-, iodo-, bromo- and chloroary ls, respectively.
