Abstract
Both the enantiomers of (Z)-21-methyl-8-pentatriacontene (1), the major com ponent of the female-produced contact sex pheromone of the yellow-spotted l ongicorn beetle (Psacothea hilaris), were synthesized by starting from the enantiomers of citronellol (2).
