SEM pictures were taken before and after tilting the specimen mount with th
e object at angles of 10-15 degrees. Observing pairs of the resulting photo
graphs through a suitable stereoscope (or by simpler techniques) gives a th
ree-dimensional view of the object which assists in the interpretation of m
orphological structures. Examples are presented that show details of intern
al structures in the region between wheel organ and mastax of Brachionus pl
icatilis and compare the structure of trophi in different rotifers.
