Abstract
Focus From the Trenches: A Longitudinal Study of CSFs for Software Process Improvement, by Brian Fitzgerald and Tom O'Kane, pp. 37-45. Studying a soft ware process improvement effort over time reveals the specific factors asso ciated with its success. This case study shows how Motorola's Cellular Infr astructure Group progressed to CMM level 4, examines the critical success f actors associated with that achievement, and discusses what is needed to op timize the group's software development process.
