Abstract
Supercritical water oxidation was applied to the destruction of municipal e xcess sewage sludge and alcohol distillery wastewater of molasses. The reac tion was carried out in a batch reactor with hydrogen peroxide as an oxidan t in the temperature range 673-773 K. Total organic carbon was measured as a function of reaction time. The dynamic data were analyzed by a first-orde r reaction model. The reaction rate constant coincides with those reported in the literature.
