Abstract
The lattice parameters, thermal expansion, and electrical conductivity of Y 2Ba1-xMxCuO5 (M = Sr, Ca; x = 0-1) solid solutions were measured at tempera tures from 293 to 1073 K in air. The ranges of solid solution are 0 less th an or equal to x less than or equal to 0.85 in the Y2Ba1-xSrxCuO5 system an d 0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.80 in the Y2Ba1-xCaxCuO 5 system. Partial substitution of Sr or Ca for Ba reduces the lattice param eters and thermal expansion and increases the conductivity of Y2Ba1-xMxCuO5 .
