Abstract
An interferometer e-switch of single-mode radiation for industrial lasers i s described. It operates at a voltage of up to 1 kV and at a repetition rat e of control pulses of 100 Hz to 150 kHz. Lasing modes were studied with a cw Nd :YAG laser and single-mode pulse-periodic radiation with a peak power exceeding 3 kW, spatial brightness of >6 GW/cm(2)sr, beam divergence of 0. 5 mrad, coherence length of 52 cm, and energy efficiency of up to 0.7 was o btained.
