Review of the genus Harpalejeunea (Lejeuneaceae) including the descriptionof H-grandis, a new species from the paramos of Colombia

The generic delimitation of Harpalejeunea is discussed. A description and i llustration of H. grandis Grolle & Reiner from paramos of Colombia is given . It is treated as the type of a new subgenus Cleefiolejeunea Grolle & Rein er with a cortex of ventral merophytes four cells wide. The true and exclud ed Harpalejeunea taxa are separately listed with types, including designati ons of 15 new lectotypes and a neotype for Lejeunea paratropa Spruce. Fourt een names are newly synonymized and the following new combinations are prop osed: Cheilolejeunea curvatiloba (Herzog) Grolle, comb. nov. (Harpalejeunea curvatiloba Herzog 1955), Echinocolea asprella (Spruce) Grolle, comb. nov. (Lejeunea asprella Spruce 1884), E. subspathulata (Spruce) Grolle, comb. n ov. (L. subspathulata Spruce 1884), Microlejeunea constricta (Grolle) Groll e, comb. nov. (Harpalejeunea constricta Grolle 1968), M. kinabaluensis (Miz ut.) Grolle, comb, nov. (H. kinabaluensis Mizut. 1973), M. mammillosa (Mizu t.) Grolle, comb. nov. (H. mammillosa Mizut. 1973), M. minutissima (Mizut.) Grolle, comb, nov. (H. minutissima Mizut. 1973) and M. spinosa (Mizut.) Gr olle, comb, nov. (H. spinosa Mizut. 1973).
