Abstract
In the system M-II-ONC(CN)(2)(-) - H2O (M = Co, Ni, Cu) nucleophilic additi on of water to ONC(CN)(2)(-) is shown to form new anionic chelate ligands. The compounds K[CoL2L'] 1.5H(2)O, [NiL2(H2O)(2)] and [CuL2], where L = ONC( CN)C(O)NH2-,L' = ONC(CN)C(NH)O2-, were isolated. It was shown by X-ray crys tallography that the complex [CoL2L']- has two ligands, L, bonded through c arbonyl oxygen and nitroso nitrogen, while the ligand L' is coordinated thr ough both imine and nitroso nitrogens.
