The dependence of coercivity on stress in both surfaces of the amorphous ma
gnetic ribbon Fe8.1B13.5Si3.5C2 has been investigated. The results obtained
show a decrease in coercivity with increasing tensile stress applied along
the direction of the magnetic field. Transversal tensile and compressive s
tresses are applied and an asymmetrical behaviour in coercivity is observed
