Observations of Fe surfaces with magnetic force and Kerr microscopy

Combined studies of the magnetic microstructure of iron were performed with a Nanoscope III magnetic force microscope (MFM) and a digitally enhanced K err microscope to compare their imaging properties. In an iron whisker 90 d egrees and 180 degrees domain walls were seen accompanied by wall transitio ns. On slightly misoriented (1 0 0) iron surfaces the charge distribution i n the fir-tree pattern was studied. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All righ ts reserved.
