Two BaFe10.4C0.8Ti0.8O19 samples of 45 and 7.6 nm mean particle diameter we
re studied. Static magnetic properties and low-field relaxation measurement
s indicate the presence of high-energy barriers in the nanometric powder, w
hich cannot be associated with the intrinsic anisotropy. However, relaxatio
n after cooling at high held involves only low-energy barriers. (C) 1999 El
