Abstract
We report a study of amorphous films of GdxV1-x with x < 24 at %. Electrica l resistivity shows a wide range of behaviours, from metallic (d rho/dT > 0 ) to non-metallic (d rho/dT > 0). Only the him with highest concentration a nd metallic behaviour showed long-range magnetic order below 12 K, the othe rs being paramagnetic. Magnetoresistance measurements in pulsed magnetic fi elds up to 35 T did not show any saturation. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
