Abstract
PbFe12-xMexO19, Me = Sc, In (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal t o 3), hexaferrites have been characterised by vibrational sample magnetomet ry and Mossbauer spectroscopy in the temperature range 77-800 K. For both s eries, the saturation magnetisation and the Curie temperature showed a rapi d fall with the substitutions. It was also established that In and Sc ions enter the pseudohexahedral sublattice b with the same probability as for ot her lattice sites. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
