High-temperature powder X-ray diffraction and magnetization measurements we
re performed on LaMnO3.00 from room temperature up to 600 degrees C. X-ray
diffraction data show a transition from a distorted orthorhombic phase to a
pseudocubic one. These two phases coexist within 350 < T < 450 degrees C.
This result was confirmed through high-temperature magnetization measuremen
ts where a hysteretic behavior of the susceptibility was observed in this r
ange of temperature. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
