Various PRML systems for the (1,7) code and the 16/17 GCR code are experime
ntally studied. We constructed an experimental evaluation system for PRML c
hannel using a spinstand and estimated the performance of various PRML syst
ems. The results show that PR(1,1,1, -1, -1, -1)Ml, PR(1,2,1, -1, -1, -1)Ml
and Pr(1,2,1,0, -1, -2, -1)ML for the (1,7) code have an excellent perform
