Abstract
The new compounds RETaapproximate to 0.5Feapproximate to 11.5, (RE = Tb, DY , Ho, Er and Lu), isotypic with ThMn12, have been synthesized. X-ray diffra ction shows that Ta occupies exclusively the si crystallographic site. All of them have a spontaneous magnetization, with Curie points ranging from 49 9 K for RE = Lu to 576 K for RE = Tb. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All ri ghts reserved.
