Spin-reorientation transitions in the compounds RMn6Ge6 (R = Sc, Y, Gd, Tb,
Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Lu) have been studied by means of electrical-resistivity m
easurements. The high-resistance state of ErMn6Ge6 is interpreted as the fo
rmation of superzone boundaries at the Fermi energy due to an additional (m
agnetic) periodicity. The observed anomaly in the resistivity of TbMn6Ge6 a
ppears to be connected to a sudden change in wave vector at the spin-reorie
ntation temperature. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
