A detailed experimental study of the temperature and field dependencies of
magnetoresistivity is reported for Nd2Ni2Sn ternary stannide. A complex mag
netic phase diagram below the Neel point T-Ni = 21.0 K has been specified,
revealing first- and second-order transitions. Appearance of magnetic phase
s with successively lowering symmetry is related to the competing magnetic
interactions between transition and rare-earth elements in this system. (C)
