Abstract
Infection with Blastomyces dermatitidis can cause pyogranulomatous pneumoni a, pleuritis, and peritonitis, as well as formation of abscesses. Blastomycosis should be included in the list of differential diagnoses for horses with chronic infections, especially when infection with other more c ommon pathogens has been ruled out, and the horse resides in an area in whi ch the disease is endemic.
