Abstract
Prognosis for horses with left dorsal displacement or nephrosplenic entrapm ent of the large colon is good. Colopexy, large colon resection, and nephrosplenic space ablation are metho ds to prevent recurrence of displacement of the colon. In the equine athlete with recurring left dorsal displacement of the large colon, ablation of the nephrosplenic space may be efficacious.
