P. Zahumensky et al., Kinetics of growth of M23C6 intergranular precipitates in 18Cr-12Ni-2.5Mo austenitic stainless steel, KOVOVE MAT, 37(2), 1999, pp. 108-119
In this work, the growth of secondary phase particles on austenite grain bo
undaries in 18Cr-12Ni-2.5Mo steel exposed at 650, 700, 800, 900, and 950 de
grees C is investigated. The particle sizes measured experimentally are com
pared with those calculated using semiempirical Lifsic-Sljozov-Wagner equat
ion. The positive correlation between intergranular particle sizes and expo
sition temperature and time has been found. The experimentally measured and
calculated values have exhibited good concordance, what confirms the suita
bility of the Lifsic-Sljozov-Wagner equation for description of intergranul
ar M23C6 particle growth in 18Cr-12Ni-2.5Mo steel.
