In this paper, the recrystallization process during aging for a rapidly sol
idified Cu-Cr-Zr-Mg alloy has been investigated. It is found that the disco
ntinuous crystallization process has been partially retarded by the ultra-f
ine and dispersed precipitation upon aging after deformation. Thus, a pheno
menon of combined in situ and discontinuous recrystallization has been obse
rved in the rapidly solidified Cu-Cr-Zr-Mg alloy. On the nucleation and gro
wth of recrystallization, the precipitated phases are coarsened and dissolv
ed in the front of grain boundaries following a re-precipitation in the rec
rystallization area, which results in the much more dispersed precipitates.
